The Defendant was accused of kidnapping and raping his wife, was arrested in 2003, and was initially represented by the public defender’s office. Due to problems with the case, the state dead-docketed it with the consent of the public defender, where it lingered over the Defendant’s head for the next four years. Desiring to rid himself of this legal headache, the Defendant hired Ron Beckstrom and within two weeks the case was removed from the dead-docket and then dismissed.
