The defendant was charged with Simple Battery. The case went to a full blown jury trial. The case was being fought so effectively, that half way into the trial, the judge called the attorneys up to the bench and said that with the evidence shown, he thought it would be best to place the trial on hold and let the defendant attend an intervention program instead. Once the program was completed, the charges could just be dropped. The jury was sent home, the defendant ultimately finished the program and the charges were in fact dropped.
