After the defendant was convicted in a highly publicized week long trial involving multiple counts of
Child Molestation, Aggravated Child Molestation, Aggravated Sodomy, and Cruelty to
Children relating to three separate victims, the defense moved for a new trial based on errors dealing
with the statute of limitations and merger of sentences. The state concurred with the defense
that the errors had been committed and the Defendant was granted a new trial.
